Nokia has announced it has been selected as the sole supplier by TDC NET to connect more than one million homes and businesses in Denmark with PON fiber to ultra-broadband. Starting in Copenhagen, Odense, Aarhus and Alborg, XGS-PON is being implemented for selected existing customers as well as new fiber addresses.

BT is to build what it calls the world’s first quantum-secured commercial metro network, operating from London to Bristol. The company, working with Toshiba, will provide data services secured using quantum key distribution (QKD) and post-quantum cryptography (PQC).

Japan’s NTT announced it will issue $2.7 billion of so-called ‘green bonds’, the funds from which will be used to help reduce the operator’s greenhouse gas emissions and increase their investment in renewable energy.
