World Bank’s IFC to invest $160m in Safaricom Ethiopia

The World Bank is investing US$160 million into the Safaricom project to build a new network in Ethiopia.
Safaricom Ethiopia started services two weeks ago in one city and the company plans to roll them out across 25 cities between now and April 2023.

Ethereum Merge: How one big cryptocurrency is going green

The second biggest cryptocurrency, Ethereum, is about to switch over to a new operating model that uses 99.9% less energy. Ethereum currently uses as much energy as a medium-sized country. Other cryptocurrencies, including the biggest, Bitcoin, will remain as energy-intensive as before.

Google loses appeal over record EU anti-trust Android fine

The €4.125bn (£3.5bn) penalty is the largest anti-trust fine ever handed down by the European Commission. It said Google had breached its laws by forcing Android phone-makers to carry its search and web browser apps in order to access the Google Play Store in 2018.
