The Arimao subsea cable system that will connect Cienfuegos, Cuba to Schoelcher, Martinique has a tentative go live date of April 2023. “We hope to launch the Arimao submarine cable in April,” said Tania Velázquez Rodríguez, president of Etecsa.

Four of Vietnam’s subsea cable connections disrupted
Internet providers in Vietnam are facing severe problems as four out of five subsea cables that connect the country are experiencing issues. The state-run Vietnam News Agency has reported that internet service providers are the problems – the reason for which is unknown – are seriously affecting performance and reliability.

Nokia's network technology and services have helped Telia Denmark achieve the number one position for network performance. Determined by independent drive testing in the country’s four largest cities, the tests assessed the quality of the country's mobile radio network coverage and were performed by umlaut, part of Accenture.

Tech lay-offs: Dell to cut workforce
Dell is to lay off about 6,650 workers because of the decline in demand for personal computers. The job cuts are expected to affect about 5% of its global workforce. The company faced tough market conditions with an uncertain future and its previous cost-cutting measures were no longer enough, co-chief operating officer Jeff Clarke wrote in a memo.

KDDI selects Samsung for its 5G Standalone core
