BT pins shift on first female CEO Kirkby
BT has appointed Allison Kirkby as its new CEO, taking over from Philip Jansen. Kirkby has been president and CEO of Telia Company since early 2020. The Swedish firm is the leading digital communications and telecoms provider to 25 million customers across the Nordic and Baltic regions.

Space telescope Euclid captures glittering galaxies and stars in first images
The telescope is on a six-year mission to shed light on two of the universe's greatest mysteries. The fully calibrated Euclid will create the "biggest ever 3D map of the sky".

UK's first drone mail service begins in Orkney
Orkney has become the first location in the UK to have mail delivered by drone. The Orkney I-Port operation has been launched by Royal Mail and drone firm Skyports to distribute letters and parcels between the islands. Mail will be transported from Kirkwall delivery office to Stromness.

AWS launches infrastructure cloud region in Israel
Through this newly added cloud region users can run their applications and serve end their end customers from data centres located in Israel. AWS announced that the company is planning to invest an estimated $7.2 billion in Israel through to 2037 via the new AWS Israel (Tel Aviv) region.

E& in €2.5 billion Eastern Europe entry
E& has brokered a deal worth up to €2.5 billion that will see it take control of PPF Group’s telecoms operations in four markets in Eastern Europe. The United Arab Emirates-based company revealed a month ago that it was in talks with PPF Group regarding a possible strategic collaboration.

Tech shares fall as China mulls child smartphone limits
