Ofcom revises UK net neutrality rules

UK regulator Ofcom has made revisions to its net neutrality rules, which will further ensure that all traffic carried across UK networks is treated identically. The adaptations will “allow for clarity in our guidance to enable ISPs to innovate and manage their networks more efficiently".

Facebook and Instagram launch ad-free subscription tier in EU

Facebook and Instagram are launching subscriptions in most of Europe that will remove adverts from the platforms. People using the Meta-owned platforms will be able to pay €9.99 (£8.72) per month for an ad-free experience.

White House to share ransomware data with allies

The White House is working to finalize a new policy outlining how governments should respond to ransomware attacks, including sharing information on attackers and the accounts they use to collect ransoms, a senior administration official with knowledge of the matter said.

Artificial Intelligence has the ability to perform illegal financial trades and cover it up, new research suggests. In a demonstration at the UK's AI safety summit, a bot used made-up insider information to make an "illegal" purchase of stocks without telling the firm.

BT records soaring profits in latest results

In the six months ending September 30, revenue rose to £10.41 billion from £10.37 billion a year earlier. The operator said pretax profit rose 29% to £1.08 billion from £831 million. Adjusted earnings before tax, depreciation, and amortisation rose to £4.09 billion from £3.87 billion.
