A trial took place at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham last weekend to see whether esports could take their place alongside traditional sports like swimming and athletics.

Google Fiber will bring its high-speed internet service to several cities in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Nebraska and Nevada as it expands its network.
The expansion is the biggest since it spun out as an independent Alphabet Inc unit in 2015.

Globe Telecom signs $1.28bn to sell 5,700 towers

Philippines-based Globe Telecom has agreed to sell and lease back over 5,700 of its mobile towers.
Last week, Globe revealed it had signed two major tower sales deal which is set to raise around US$1.28 billion, most of which will be put toward its network expansion.
