Rogers Communications has announced it has launched the first commercial 5G standalone (SA) network in Canada and one of the first globally, turning on the next-generation service after completing the rollout of Canada’s first national standalone 5G core and the country’s first 5G standalone device certification, continuing its leadership in the rollout of 5G technology.

China’s telecom carriers expand network capacity in Shanghai

China's three telecom carriers have been scaling up efforts to provide a stable telecom network in Shanghai, including expanding computer cloud servers, enlarging coverage of 5G network and upgrading telecom communication speeds.

IDC: Cloud infrastructure spending to grow 21.7% this year

For the 2022, IDC is forecasting cloud infrastructure spending to grow 21.7% compared to 2021 to $90.0 billion, while non-cloud infrastructure is expected to decline slightly, down 0.3% to $59.4 billion.

China's popular WeChat messaging app has suspended some accounts linked to non-fungible tokens (NFTs), to prevent speculation in the digital assets.

The platform says it has "rectified" accounts which it found to be promoting NFT market speculation, that can help to drive up prices.
