Mr Goxx, the cryptocurrency-trading hamster, dies

The rodent, who shot to internet fame for his ability to often outperform human investors using a specially built trading cage, has died. The furry financier's official Twitter account announced the hamster's death to his 18,000 followers on social media.

T-Mobile recently announced it now covers 200 million people with its 'Ultra Capacity' 5G, reaching the milestone weeks ahead of schedule and years ahead of the competition. T-Mobile claims that its 'Ultra Capacity' 5G now covers 80% its customers.

Tata eyes $300m semiconductor assembly facility in India

Tata Group is reportedly in talks with three Indian states to potentially build a $300 million semiconductor assembly and test unit. Specifically, the group is in discussions with the southern Indian states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Telangana.

UK competition watchdog orders Meta to sell Giphy

Facebook's parent company, Meta, has been ordered to sell Giphy by the UK's Competition and Market Authority. Facebook planned to integrate Giphy with another of its existing social-media platforms, Instagram. But the CMA ruled the purchase unfair to competing social-media platforms.

Telefonica bringing industrial 5G services to market in 2022

The offerings will reportedly include 5g-powered robots, drones, and remote assistance equipment powered by a standalone (SA) 5G network. Telefonica will move to commercialise three specific 5G use cases for industry: AGV's, remote assistance solutions and drone solutions.

TWITCH Unleashes AI tool to spot banned users

Twitch has launched a tool that uses machine learning to detect users trying to rejoin chat channels from which they have been banned for abusive behaviour. But the new system would warn streamers and chat moderators if a user was a "likely" or "possible" ban evader. It is part of Twitch's long-running efforts to reduce hate and harassment.

TPG telecom sets 148km record for 5g link as founder sells shares

Australian group TPG Telecom, which merged with Vodafone Hutchison Australia (VHA) last year, has claimed a world record for 5G video and voice calls. At the same time, TPG founder David Teoh, who stepped down from the board after the merger, has sold a $238 million stake in the expanded group.

The cable, set to link Italy to Greece, will be extended to Athens and Thessaloniki via Grid Telecom’s national fibre backbone.The cable, which will span around 320km across the Ionian Sea, is due to come into service in Q4 2022.
