Hi, I’m Arwen and I’m a Digital Marketing Apprentice at Ilex Content Strategies.
When I finished my A-levels 18 months ago, I knew University wasn’t for me. Although, I only realised I didn’t know what was for me when everyone around me was getting offers and leaving to start their next chapter. For six months, I worked a part-time job and thought about many potential paths. After some research, I chose an apprenticeship because I wanted to learn and gain hands-on industry experience at the same time, something university could not offer me.
Just over a year into my Digital Marketing apprenticeship I have developed a variety of new skills, not only to be used within marketing but also in life. Ilex Content Strategies has played a huge part in both my professional and personal development. I have been given the independence and responsibility I wanted at Ilex alongside getting the training that will allow me to gain my qualification. I’ve recognised a huge leap in my confidence over the past year, inside and outside of work.
I am so glad that I chose to do an apprenticeship as I’ve been given the opportunity to learn more and more everyday while getting the experience I need to excel in years to come.
My message to those looking to do an apprenticeship is to definitely go for it. It takes drive, passion and accountability for your actions but the benefits you get out of it are great.
