Uzbekistan taps Toyota, Tsusho, NEC and NTT for significant upgrades

The companies will work together to deploy data centre and telecoms infrastructure for an advanced data communication known as ‘the System’. Installation of the System is to begin in 2023 with the launch of operations that is expected to “significantly” improve the communications environment of Uzbekistan.

Microsoft banks on AI with OpenAI expanded partnership

Microsoft confirms the third phase of its long-term partnership with OpenAI through an undisclosed multiyear, multibillion-dollar investment. The news follows previous investments made by Microsoft in OpenAI in 2019 and 2021 and extends the company's ongoing collaboration across AI supercomputing and research.

SK Telecom announced that it developed and applied a system that checks the safety of cell towers using drones and image analysis AI. Developed by in-house experts, the image analysis AI model can determine the status of bolts and nuts by analysing drone images.

88% of IT exec are still investing in network services, finds FiberLight survey
