The Big News from International Telecoms Week 2019

International Telecoms Week (ITW) 2019 was a huge success for the Ilex team and our busiest ITW ever. It was great to catch up with our clients from around the world and make some new connections in Atlanta. ITW is an opportunity for us to ask a lot of questions, learn from the industry and think about trends that are shaping the future of the carrier community. 

Around the world, we're seeing carriers, platforms and a whole range of service providers pushing our industry to new places. Organisations across the globe are putting their transformation strategies into action and the results are some really exciting developments.   

Here's some of the highlights from the news shared at ITW: 

datamena launched a global interconnect ecosystem, that will deliver seamless interconnection between major cloud and content hubs around the world.


Telefónica International Wholesale Services (TIWS) announced its launch of TUKU Web, an in-house anti-fraud solution, which helps to prevent and detect potential fraudulent activity on voice traffic streams.


Deutsche Telekom Global Carrier (DTGC) has deployed a new solution provided by Linxa, to enhance and simplify management of its voice business.


Telia Carrier announced the expansion of its North American network with the addition of two new diverse and latency-optimised DWDM routes between New Jersey and Northern Virginia.


i3forum confirmed the launch of i3forum Insights, powered by TeleGeography, which will enable Carriers to upload their voice traffic data into a database, supporting the industry with data-driven insights and intelligence.


Bulk Infrastructure AS has launched its Nordic Gateway, as on-ramp solution into the Havfrue Cable System ⁠— a 7,200 kilometre link from New Jersey to Denmark and Norway. 


The Global Leaders’ Forum announced the launched of the Communications Blockchain Network, which allows the opportunity for costs savings and revenues from new products and services.

Batelco announced the extension of its partnership with digital infrastructure provider Tata Communications to offer an expanded global reach.


UFINET announced it has entered into an agreement to acquire a majority stake in Netell Telecom.
