Telecom Egypt signs agreement with St Helena Government to provide it with its first subsea solution

Telecom Egypt and St Helena Government (SHG)  have signed an agreement to connect the Island to Telecom Egypt’s subsea system over the Equiano submarine cable system.                                                                                         

The cable, along with the associated high-speed internet, is planned to be delivered to the Island by early 2022.

New data shows that Q3 enterprise spending on cloud infrastructure services were almost $33 billion, up 33% from Q3 2019, according to Synergy Research Group.

The year-on-year growth rate for Q3 was higher than the 32% growth seen in the previous quarter, demonstrating the health of the market.

BT turning Belfast Harbour into 5G hub

BT has announced that it is deploying one of the UK’s first private 5G networks in Belfast Harbour, aiming to turn the port into a state-of-the-art digital hub. 
 
Trials of the 5G technology in the port were first undertaken last year and, having proved successful, the network is now to be fully constructed, expecting to go live some time early next year.

Precision Farming Market to cross $12 billion by 2025

A farm-lab experimenting with some of the latest agri-tech has been opened by Barclays as part of its network of co-working spaces to help start-ups develop.

The farm, located at Lincoln University's Riseholme research campus, will offer entrepreneurs and researchers access to some of the latest technology.

TikTok partners With Shopify for social commerce

TikTok is embracing social shopping via a global partnership with popular ecommerce platform Shopify.

Mobile carriers in Egypt have acquired 10-year licenses for spectrum in the 2.6 GHz TDD band.
